Eco Salon Event at Green Spaces, NYC

Cri de Coeur was lucky enough to be a part of the EcoSalon event at Green Spaces Friday night. With the beautiful and talented Lara Miller on our left and one of our new favorites, Feral Childe on our right, we knew we were in good company. All the designers are so amazing, all of us trying to push forward in the sustainable fashion movement. It makes us so happy to be among such wonderful people, those who attended and those who sponsored.

We chatted with a lot of great people, including Tess from Save the Garment Center about the thinning of the apparel businesses that once was the thriving center of the city. Now most businesses are losing their leases and we chatted about how we as business owners can help by producing locally. Cri de Coeur is happy to say that we manufacture our new handbag line locally in New York, right in the middle of where it all began a century ago. I was happy to learn that the garment district can be rescued! Just add that to the list of things to save in this world! We really have to start paying attention to these details because it says so much about who we are by the way we do business.

These photos were taken last night to share our night with you. We met some new friends, but also ran into some old ones that stopped by to check things out, like vegan twin brothers, Daniel and Matthew Mims still trying to get us to make mens footwear! (Soon, we promise!) We met these guys at an event called Vegan Drinks not too long ago and we became fast friends.  (Next NYC Vegan Drinks is June 24th at Angels and Kings!) Check out what these boys are blogging about at Here.am.

People were so encouraging about our line. Shoppers like Eco model Summer Rayne Oakes (pictured above with her most amazing hip black glasses) walked away with our Lizzy style from our Spring ‘10 collection. Ended up going home with something from H Fredriksson ourselves (an artist at heart,  she makes all her own prints!). Being immersed in this world makes us proud to be a part of something so special. Knowing we can still make a difference one stylish step at a time.

We’d love to hear what you think, and if you were there, please post your experience below!  BECOME A FAN ON FACEBOOK to learn of new discount codes coming soon from Cri de Coeur!

Thank you EcoSalon and Greenspaces!!
