HOW WE WEAR IT : VOLUME VII
The series unfolds in our 7th installment of
“How We Wear It.”
Julie is effusive about her velvet and faux pony hair Spell shoes from Hearts of Darkness. (Also featured is our very own Brass and Faux Suede Bangle Bracelet from Ether/Ore for Cri de Coeur) While fringe remains queen of her closet, it’s great to pair these shiny leggings with something less sophisticated, making for an outfit that is a little bit country, a little bit rock n’ roll. This seemed to be the theme of the trip to Vegas for the MAGIC tradeshow, a town in which Donny and Marie Osmand clearly rule. These pictures were taken from our booth at the show where we hoped to introduce a more humane avenue of style to the masses.
Not a whole lot for vegans at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Too bad we didn’t hear about the vegan options at the Wynn Casino & Hotel. Perhaps the rumor that Casino mogul Steve Wynn has gone vegan is actually TRUE! Wouldn’t that be amazing. At 68 years old, if he can change, our Dads should be able to change. (Though we’re not holding our breath!)
We did beg our good friend, Mariya Karimi of Marzaar Clothing, to drive us to Red Velvet Cafe which had yummy vegan options for us. Juile had an amazing spinach and seitan wrap. (She suggests not trying to save food in a bag in an ice bucket at your hotel, it doesn’t really work) Gina had the, wait for it…………..salad. Check out Marzaar’s awesome designs on Facebook. Gina’s fresh look for Summer starts with these amazing Lorena Ankle Wrap Sandals in black. Trying to fight the climate changes from 115 degree vegas heat (no, that is not the new Nick Lachey fronted boy band) to freezing air conditioning of the indoors, Gina’s hole-y sweater is the perfect solution for the problem. The power of the sweater is in its length, which, thanks to the healthy height of the shoes, seems to make Gina’s silhouette go on for ever. The camera had no room for her head.
We had a great turn-out for the show and everyone really loved our new collection for Spring 2011. We can’t wait to show you all a true sneak peak of the line, but until then, if you squint hard enough you can see the fabulous studs shining on the Hearts of Darkness Rebel Boot and the beloved Alexa re-make, the Alegra, from Cri de Coeur. Cri de Coeur has a futuristic edge for 2011, while Hearts of Darkness is all neo pirate, daring us all to be the girl that walks the walk and talks the talk!

Blossom Du Jour : “Shrewd Fast Food” Coming 9/22/10
Blossom, our all-time fav vegan restaurant in New York City, is entering the world of Fast Food with Blossom Du Jour. Du Jour will offer quick, healthy, environmentally conscious food choices which will hopefully change the reputation of the term “fast food”.
Consumers will now have the opportunity to indulge in a new concept of quick service meals. The menu will offer fresh juices, salads, burgers, wraps, potpies, soups, sweets, soft-serve, and sandwiches. The menu will also feature various gluten- and soy-free and raw options.
To help celebrate, owner Pamela Elizabeth is having a Vegan Indulgence Recipe Contest. Submit a photo, or set of photos, along with the recipe for your best vegan “indulgence” sandwich or dessert by September 15th 2010 to blossomdujour@gmail.com .
They’re looking for one unbelievably creative, scrumptious sandwich and one decadent dessert to help kick off our grand opening!

We’re back for “How We Wear It”
Volume VI
It was a warm day when Julie met Gina at their SoHo Office at Greenspaces and once again was stopped three times to discuss her shoes. We have done previous coverage on the “Alexa” style, but Julie just can’t get enough and apparently neither can New York! Pairing them here with an amazing vintage dress and Lulu Frost necklace that she picked up from Kaight Boutique, these surprisingly comfortable cut-out booties really modernize this outfit.

Gina and Julie definitely had a black and white opposite thing going on, and happened to choose shoes from the same Pre-Fall 2009 Season. These “Savanah” shoes are also show stoppers, and we handed out plenty of business cards walking down the busy streets together so that people could take advantage of the reduced prices on both of these styles. Now available at the Cri de Coeur on-line shop, you too can own your very own. These pics give you a few ideas of how to put them all together.
